In hurricane-prone southern Louisiana, The Phoenix High School turned to LiteForm products to build a strong structure able to withstand the toughest storms. The school, which opened in 2014, used 86,000 square feet of LiteDeck for its second floor. While many area schools were damaged during Hurricane Katrina, the new, concrete-reinforced school — which utilized roughly 22 truckloads of LiteDeck material — is able to withstand hurricanes up to a Category 5 rating and is built to function as an evacuation shelter for future storms.
